About Us
We are a group of three early twenty year olds from Texas who have a collective 9 internships/co-ops throughout our time in college. The team consists of one Computer Engineer (technical), a double major Computer and Electrical Engineer (technical) and a Mechanical Engineer (non-technical). We have landed companies like American Express, Salesforce, Amazon Robotics, and more for our internships. Furthermore, we each have a great grasp of personal finances and technology from our experiences and knowledge.
Why We Created JPA
We created Jackpot Automations because we saw a common problem amongst our friends and ourselves... no one could manage their finances according to their situation. Most of us went from making minimum wage ($7.25/hr) to making over $30+/hr during the summer for an internship. More times than not, that person would burn through their money before the fall semester even starts. Even with other personal finance apps, there was no way to set short term goals or get help in a unique situation like "I expect to make $40/hr this summer and my housing is covered, how do I save enough money to cover my expenses in the summer and have some runway for the fall." or, "I expect to move to the Bay Area this fall, how do I prepare to move there financially". Most personal finance apps allow you to see your transactions and set longterm goals, but nothing short term or help in certain situations tailored for the user. We started by entering a pitch competition, lost, then decided to pursue it because we knew it was a problem worth solving, because more and more people are getting internships meaning that the problem will only get bigger. This tool will be a great staple to get students started well off financially in their professional careers.
